SOS
Neighborhood Captains
This
job will involve helping the SOS Committee spread the word throughout
each neighborhood in all three communities concerning the referendum.
The
Captains will be a drop point for literature and signs for their
neighborhood. They will be asked to distribute the literature
or find volunteers to do this important job within their neighborhood.
The
Captains will be asked to work with the "Coffee Coordinators"
to schedule two to three informational coffees in their neighborhood.
The
Captains will be asked to work with the "Caller Coordinators"
to recruit two to three callers who are willing to make friendly
reminder calls on the day of the vote, March 16. The Captains
will be the drop point for lists of those 'yes' voters who haven't
gone to the polls yet, and a friendly call will need to be made
to each of those voters reminding them to vote and checking to
see if they need a ride to the polls.
SOS
Neighborhood Callers
Caller
Coordinators are compiling a list of people who are willing to
call parents to make sure they are registered to vote in their
precinct. Calls also will be made asking all registered voters
if they are in support of the referendum. If the voter needs more
information before deciding, the caller will get the address and
a packet will be sent by the SOS committee. All registered voters
need to be contacted to determine 'yes' vote and the undecided
vote. All calls will be made after the first of the year.
SOS
Coffee Hosts/Hostesses
The
SOS Coffee Coordinators are planning to hold 40 or more Neighborhood
Coffees during January, February and the first two weeks in March.
This will be a time for the host/hostess to invite friends and
family for a discussion with a 'Referendum Discussion Team' concerning
questions and issues. We will provide cookies and information,
the host/hostess provides the friends/family and coffee.
Celebration
For
all those who help with this campaign in any way, there will be
a 'Counting of the Votes Party' held the night of the election,
March 16. We plan to celebrate the positive outcome of the vote
with those who make it happen.
